My next destination was Lake Atitlán, often hailed as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Enclosed by dramatic volcanoes and traditional Mayan villages, the lake’s scenery is nothing short of magical. I stayed in Panajachel, a popular lakeside town that served as my base. There, I hiked through the Reserva Natural Atitlán, a lush reserve with trails, waterfalls, and wildlife. Later, I unwound by the lake, soaking in the tranquility, and took a scenic sunset cruise that offered stunning views of the sun dipping behind the volcanic peaks. (72 photos)
