On the way to Cairo, I spent a few days in Doha. The capital city of Qatar offers a blend of modernity and tradition that attracts tourists from around the world. The skyline is dominated by futuristic skyscrapers like the iconic Torch Tower and the twisting form of the Burj Qatar. The Corniche, a waterfront promenade, provides picturesque views of the city skyline and is popular for evening strolls and leisure activities. Souq Waqif, a vibrant market, offers a glimpse into traditional Qatari life with its maze-like alleys filled with spices, handicrafts, and local cuisine. Doha also hosts major international events like the Qatar Open tennis tournament and the Qatar International Food Festival, further enhancing its appeal as a cultural and entertainment hub in the Middle East.
