During the winter break, I set out to explore the vibrant landscapes and rich culture of Guatemala. My journey began in Antigua, a picturesque city renowned for its well-preserved Spanish Baroque architecture and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. While in Antigua, I visited Hobitenango, a whimsical eco-park nestled in the hills, offering panoramic views and playful, Hobbit-inspired attractions. I also wandered through the ruins of centuries-old churches, browsed the lively local markets, and explored the historic Cementerio General. The day culminated in a spectacular firework display over the Arco de Santa Catarina, marking the start of a festive holiday celebration. (90 photos)
